Big Pharma-funded Democrat Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards sparked a firestorm of criticism with an edict purporting to mandate COVID injections for school children, prompting lawsuits and outrage across the state and beyond. Far-left authorities in California are pursuing similar schemes.
The recent gubernatorial decree in Louisiana was made in defiance of state lawmakers from both parties, who just voted overwhelmingly to overturn state “health” bureaucrats’ efforts to force COVID injections on children.
One lawmaker, Representative Daniel McCormick, recently told this writer that he has been trying for over a year to pass a law banning vaccine mandates in the state. His colleagues told him it was not needed. And yet, Big Pharma and Big Government are now teaming up to trample freedom.
In a letter to lawmakers explaining his decision to mandate the experimental injection, which has triggered hundreds of thousands of reports of injuries and death with the federal VAERS system, Governor Edwards pretended like the experimental COVID injections were just like previous vaccines.
“One can only imagine where we would be as a state if the same overheated rhetoric from last week’s meeting was applied to polio or measles,” Edwards wrote in a letter to House Health and Welfare Committee Chairman Larry Bagley, an anti-mandate Republican.
“The development of the COVID-19 vaccines in time to help us put this pandemic behind us also requires us to do everything we can to add COVID-19 to the list of diseases that no longer pose a serious threat,” Edwards continued in the letter without even acknowledging the experimental nature of the COVID injections.
Representative Bagley said he was “disappointed” that the governor defied what was “clearly the bipartisan will of our committee, which is charged with oversight of this issue.” Parents, not government, should decide whether to inject children, he added.
Bagley’s committee held hearings recently that were packed with furious citizens and parents speaking out against mandates and the COVID tyranny. In fact, the pressure was so intense that three Democrats and an Independent joined all 9 Republicans for a 13-2 vote against mandates.
State health bureaucrats working for the governor denounced the opposition to their decrees by claiming it was based on “misinformation.” State “Public Health Officer” Dr. Joe Kanter said this alleged disinformation is “extremely dangerous.”
In reality, though, it is the injections that are extremely dangerous, numerous scientists and doctors have told this writer. Meanwhile, COVID represents virtually no danger whatsoever to children, with the CDC’s data showing an infection fatality rate of 0.00003 in those 19 and under. The injections do not prevent COVID, as virtually every health authority and the manufacturers now acknowledge.
What could be the governor’s motivation, then, for this flagrant attack on the people of his own state? As with other politicians seeking to forcibly inject Americans with the COVID shots, Big Pharma and “healthcare” interests have been huge financiers of Edwards’ political career.
Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry has repeatedly warned that mandating COVID injections for children is against the law. With multiple lawsuits already in the pipeline, it appears certain that the courts will weigh in at some point.
Despite the draconian mandate, though, parents still have several options to avoid the injections for their children. State law also provides religious and medical exemptions for parents.
This assault on the rights of parents and the well-being of children must be resisted. The best and surest way to protect children and families from these escalating attacks is to remove them from government school for good.
