4 in 10 Brown University Students Now Identify as LGBTQ+: Poll

The number of Brown University students identifying as homosexual, bisexual, or transgender has more than doubled since 2010, according to a new poll commissioned by a student-run paper. A decade ago, just 14 percent of students there claimed in polls to be LGBT. Today, almost 40 percent identify with one of the letters, according to the Brown Daily Herald’s Spring 2023 poll released last month.

Breaking down the numbers, students who identify as homosexual have increased by over 25 percent, with “bisexual” surging over 230 percent. But the number of students identifying with “other sexual orientations” such as “Queer,” “Pansexual” and “Asexual” skyrocketed almost 800 percent since the surveys began over a decade ago. Over 5 percent said they were “nonbinary” or “genderqueer.”

Students quoted by the paper celebrated the news, suggesting it was due to more social acceptance. “Queer people haven’t been able to be open in their identifications for that long,” argued Josephine Kovecses, who is set to graduate with the class of 2025. “So it’s exciting that the numbers are growing and that queer people are able to be open in particular at Brown.”

The epidemic at ultra-liberal Brown is even more extreme than across the United States. In fact, Brown students are five times more likely than other Americans to identify with one of the letters. But the same general trends are being seen nationwide amid a relentless LGBT propaganda campaign by Big Media, Big Business, and Big Government-funded “education” institutions at all levels.

Polling continues to show the number of self-styled LGBTQ+ people surging with each generation, with no end in sight to the increase. A Gallup poll released last year found that more than 7 percent of adults now identify as LGBTQ+. Compare that with those between the ages of 18 and 25, about 20 percent of whom told Gallup they identify as LGBTQ+.

The same trends are even happening in America’s most conservative states. In Utah, for example, The Newman Report highlighted data from the state’s medical prescriptions database showing a 10,000 percent increase in the number of minor girls undergoing so-called “gender transitions” in the GOP-dominated state.

The data adds more evidence debunking claims of LGBTQ+ promoters that homosexuality and gender confusion is genetic. If it were, rates would remain relatively steady. As such, the unprecedented surge has been explained as “social contagion” by experts, who say that choosing a letter from the LGBTQ+ spectrum is considered “trendy” or “cool” by brainwashed youngsters. Critical Theory also plays a role.

However, public approval for homosexuality and transgenderism has also been retreating. According to a recent Gallup poll, the number of Republicans who say homosexual relations are morally acceptable has plunged by 15 percent to 41 percent in just one year. Among Americans generally, numbers fell by 7 percent to well below two thirds acceptance.

Ivy League universities such as Brown are supposedly producing the future business and political leaders of tomorrow. That means the skyrocketing number of self-proclaimed LGBTQ+ adherents has enormous implications for the future that are hard to overstate, even just from a demographic perspective as birthrates continue to plummet far beyond replacement levels. This is a crisis that must be addressed.
